Artist's statement:

I wanted this panel to embody all of my frustrations, my unspoken and often hidden desires, the tension, the endless miscommunications, and the feelings of being silenced by my strict religious upbringing.

This piece symbolizes a battle for liberty in a mind full of locked doors.

Like a skillful mountain climber, Hoogveld is showing the darkest recesses of her psyche, with unbridled enthusiasm and surgical camera acumen well beyond her twenty-four years.

"Shut Up or Get Out", her fifth in a series of ten panoramic panels, is her strongest yet.

I'll go out on a limb and claim this panel as a masterwork, with bondage, sexual orgasms, and a baby Jesus being held captive by her slender fingers in the center of this screaming vortex.

At this stunning rate, Hoogveld will soon be claiming her place among America's great photographers like Diane Arbus, Nan Goldin and Cindy Sherman.

The world may not be enough to contain her searing visions and remarkable abilities in truth-telling on a grand, cinematic scale.
