Lynn Singer, having made eight trips to Greece over the past twenty years to document its architecture, history and culture, has a particular affinity for its ancient temples, full of towering stone sculptures like the one in this photograph "Athena".
This statue was found in the old Acropolis Museum, and the new museum being built has no information on it.
As a theatrical voice instructor, Ms. Singer is keenly in tune with both the sights and sounds in her studies of Greece's mythological past, and says that she "listens" inside the temples and museums where these photographs are taken for the echoes of past civilizations, master carvers and artisans toiling to carve the massive stone gods and then erect them.
The figure's sensuous outline is a reminder of the tremendous skills of these artisans from centuries in the past.
