Artist's statement:
The shadow side of love is explored.
You lose yourself in late nights and addictions.
With day comes the harsh light of reality.
The question solidifies in your mind. What do I really need from you?

Director's comments:
When I first saw this new Hoogveld panel photo, the second in a series of ten, I thought the center picture was separate, which it isn't.
It's actually a double self-portrait, the artist is moving in a blur in the left-hand image, and the passage of time is remarkably captured.
We sense a heavy sexual encounter, but as viewers we don't know if it has already happened, or are we seeing its aftermath?
The cinematic nature of the scene, already a trademark of this young artist, recalls screen stars like Sue Lyon and Brigitte Bardot at their sultry best.
